My truck hard one day showin off for him at the local jitny junior burned those old cheeta slicks real good jerked the clutch arm but drove it all the way home without the bearings out of crap 57 chevy door with 283 turbo.

It used to torque the frame so hard it’d jerk the clutch bell arm right out of the socket if I didn’t take it easy, but it’d still pull the front wheels off the ground at the local Dairy Queen, even when I was being gentle with it…. where I used to jump the speed bumps.. this was long before anyone ever thought of inventing “muscle cars….” yea, they’re hard to drive.. God love ‘em…

It would’ve been easier if he had said, “Hot rods are well built, safe cars with a style and purpose, but don’t have to look pretty; whereas rat rods are unsafe deathtraps, lacking aesthetics, built by people who have no idea what a real hot rod is, and wanting to look ‘cool’ while wasting good tin.”
